MOSTAR (Fena) The representative of The Hague Tribunal in B&H Mr. Refik Hodžić said today that it was early to talk about whether the Hague documentation would be available in the legal action of Srebrenica families against the UN.
“It is still too early to talk about that because I think that The Hague tribunal hasn’t got a documentation request yet” – said Mr. Hodžić.
When asked what would happen with the archives of the Hague Tribunal after its closing in 2010, Mr. Hodžić said that the Tribunal had formed a group of independent experts who were to make a report about the best solutions for the archive.
He also presented realised activities in processing war crimes in B&H, and there were some discussion about transferring the Hague jurisdiction to B&H judicial system.
“It is very important to talk about different issues in relation to the work of the Hague Tribunal in order to avoid misinterpretations. We need to clear all misunderstandings around what is going on with the Hague Tribunal, specially in this moment when some of the most important trials are about to start. ” – said Mr. Hodžić.
The lecture “The Hague Tribunal - Unresolved Cases” was organised by NDC Mostar as a part of their activity “NDC Instant Response”.
The participants were representatives of local NGOs and international organisations which work in Mostar area.
